Breaking News: PM May loses Brexit-deal vote by 230 votes
UK Prime Minister May has lost her Brexit vote in a humiliating defeat in the House of Commons. She lost it by 230 votes. It is the biggest defeat since 1924.
Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, has expressed “no confidence” in the current government. He calls the vote “catastrophic” and criticises the “sheer incompetence of this government.” Parliament will debate the vote on Wednesday.
The EU leadership has already commented on the result. Jean-Claude Juncker, the head of the Commission, tweeted the following:
I take note with regret of the outcome of the vote in the @HouseofCommons this evening. I urge the #UK to clarify its intentions as soon as possible. Time is almost up #Brexit https://t.co/SMmps5kexn

Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, tweeted the following:
If a deal is impossible, and no one wants no deal, then who will finally have the courage to say what the only positive solution is?
